Amy's O [Sundance]

Do you know what your children are watching?

By TERESSA ELLIOTT

An American "Bridget Jones' Diary," "Amy's O" is focused a bit more on sex (as you probably guessed from the title) and is slightly less funny than the former, but still worth a look.

Amy Mandell (Julie Davis) writes a self-help book telling women that love doesn't exist and to "dump him now" (as fans' T-shirts state). But then Amy falls in love herself and--is she a hypocrite? Or will she stay true to her theories at the expense of her relationship? The film is cute and funny, but is unfortunately not much more than that.

The DVD does have some good extras: an alternative ending and other never-seen footage, commentary by the film's triple threat (star Julie Davis is also the director and writer) and snapshot "diaries" from the Sundance Film Festival.
