Poirot 8 [Acorn]

Do you know what your children are watching?

By FRANK BEHRENS

The classic mysteries featuring Hercule Poirot, as he is reincarnated in actor David Suchet, are all available on video tape; and I have reviewed them in the past with high recommendations.

For some time, Acorn Media has made available 12 boxed sets of three 50-minute Poirot episodes each on a single video tape. Now the DVD versions have been slowly appearing with 3 episodes on each disc. (The longer episodes are also available separately or in boxed sets from Acorn Media.)

They have just released "Poirot, Set 8" on DVD, which includes "The Case of the Missing Will" (in which a will is lost and British male chauvinism gets its comeuppance), "The Adventure of the Italian Nobleman" (in which Miss Lemon has a temporary "admirer" and Hastings a temporary Italian roadster), and "The Chocolate Box" (in which we see Poirot in his younger days as a member of the Bruxelles police force).

This is one of the better sets of three episodes and an excellent place to start one's collection, unless one already has Sets 1-7.. The suggested retail price is $29.25.
