Pumpkin [MGM]

Do you know what your children are watching?

By TERESSA ELLIOTT

An odd film -- I'm not sure if it is making fun of disabled people or celebrating them.

Christina Ricci stars as sorority sister Carolyn who befriends and then falls for a disabled teen she mentors. The film seems to be aiming for comedy but all it achieves for the viewer is discomfort. It doesn't help that you could care less about Carolyn or her attempt to change her world.

Additionally, the DVD only includes the theatrical trailer as its extra, but maybe a lack of extras is a good thing (although a commentary might have shed some light on this strange film).
